POMEGRANATE BERRY SMOOTHIE

Gary drinks 8 ounces of pomegranate juice daily, but grimaces each time ... and so we had the idea to try pom juice in a fruit smoothie, which has greatly improved Gary's facial expressions!

1. Place in a high-powered blender and blend on high speed for 30-45 seconds:

2 cups pomegranate juice

2 large bananas, sliced

1½-2 cups frozen strawberries, blueberries or mixed berries

2 Tbsp ground flax seed (optional)

2. This recipe makes a thick smoothie. Add juice as it blends if you'd prefer a thinner consistency. Yields two tall glasses.
