GRANOLA Gary went scouting the grocery store shelves for granola but was surprised to learn that most of them included unhealthy sugars high on the list of ingredients. So I pulled out an old granola recipe from back when we had munchkins underfoot ... and the result is a not-too-sweet, crunchy-with-nuts version. 1. Preheat oven to 300 degrees. 2. In large bowl combine:
3. Combine in heavy saucepan over medium heat until blended (do not boil):
4. Pour warm liquid over dry ingredients and stir until coated. 5. Spread mixture evenly over two 12x17" cookie sheets. Bake for 50 minutes, stirring every 15-20 minutes, until golden brown (edges will brown first). 6. Let cool completely on cookie sheets before storing in airtight container. Serve with mixed berries or raisins. Makes approximately 12 cups.
