These are my favorite waffles with their combination
of "baked" apples, pumpkin pie flavors and maple syrup.
1. Lightly spray waffle iron with olive
oil cooking spray and heat.
2. In medium bowl, stir
together:
1 cup whole wheat pastry
flour
1 tsp baking powder
¼
tsp salt
1½ tsp
pumpkin pie spice
3.
In a small bowl, whisk together:
¼
cup Egg Starts
2 Tbsp Wax
Orchards Fruit Sweet
1 Tbsp olive oil
1 cup rice milk
4. Pour wet ingredients
into dry ingredients and stir just until blended.
5. Stir in:
½ cup
canned pumpkin
1 green apple (such as
Granny Smith), peeled, cored and diced in small pieces
6. Bake waffles until
golden brown, approximately 4 minutes.
7. Top with real maple syrup.
Makes
six or seven 4" square waffles. |
