KOOSAH FALLS/SAHALIE FALLS
The MacKenzie River cascades over rock ledges to form two waterfalls less than a mile apart. Koosah Falls, pictured here, drops 70 feet while Sahalie Falls upstream outdoes her by 30 feet. We recommend parking in the Koosah Falls parking area (second one) so your return hike is downhill. |
The trail is well-maintained, passing through old growth timber with log benches along the route designed for taking a minute to enjoy the music of the rapids or the thunder of the falls. |
Between the two larger falls, the MacKenzie forms a trio of mini-falls.
The river canyon is filled with moss-covered logs and aquamarine water. |

Sahalie Falls crashes 100 feet downward ... |
... leaving a rainbow in its wake. |
