EDISON SNO-PARK

There are a couple trails at Edison Sno-Park designed for snow-shoers only. One is a 2.5-mile loop labeled more difficult and one is a 3.5-mile loop considered most difficult, the difference being the amount of up and downhill trekking.

The trails take you across open terrain, over and around lava flows (watch out for hollow spots), and through stands of Lodgepole and Ponderosa pine.

Gary, fearless leader that he is, scouts out the lay of the land.

Part of the fun of snow-shoeing - vs. hiking - is you can go off trail and not worry about disturbing the flora or fauna.

I tried to get Gary to snowshoe across the fallen log you see in the lower left-hand corner. I thought it would make a great action photo, but he didn't fall for it. :)
